The latest edition of the Unisys Security Index finds that 64 percent of Americans are seriously concerned about identity theft, 62 percent are seriously concerned about credit and debit card fraud, and 43 percent are seriously concerned about the security of online transactions.
To that end, 93 percent of U.S. survey respondents said they would be interested in using fingerprint identification to secure their data, and 58 percent said they would be willing to provide biometric data to merchants and financial institutions in order to confirm their identity.
