How could anyone cheat on Sandra Bullock?

I had the same thought when Brad Pitt chose Angelina Jolie over Jennifer Aniston. You know, Jennifer Aniston — America’s sweetheart.

For some reason it seems like adultery shouldn’t happen to rich, beautiful movie stars. I don’t really know why I feel that way. Maybe I’ve watched one too many shows about those darn Kardashians. Bruce Jenner would never cheat on Kris Kardashian — right?

Watching the “news” continue to unfold about Tiger Woods and his alleged sex addiction, many people have said that celebrities should be held to a higher standard because they are role models. My question is, higher than what?

Do you not hold yourself to a high standard? Shouldn’t we just hold everyone to a high standard? Clearly people will falter and make mistakes. But that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t have high standards across the board.

Along those lines, should people who are not considered role models hold themselves to a low standard because no one is looking up to them? It’s just one of those things that doesn’t make any sense to me.

  1. you’re argument makes a lot of sense, celebrities are still human after all but they get lots more attention so their flaws are magnified
